ATVing

Enjoy ATV riding on the many designated trails in the Tug Hill Region and surrounding areas.
Canoe & Kayaking
For the Canoeist and Kayaker, there is the Moose River, Black River, Independence River and Beaver River. Also there are many small lakes and ponds to quietly paddle around and enjoy.
Fishing
Do some trout fishing on the Independence River or at the many streams around camp like Otter Creek. Also enjoy fishing in the many lakes and ponds around camp for bass, perch, bullhead, walleye and pike. Francis Lake and Beaver River are good lakes for fishing.
Golfing
There are four beautiful golf courses located within 30 minutes of camp. There is Carlowden Country Club and Cedars Golf Course in Lowville, Turin Highlands in Turin and Brantingham Lake Golf Course at Brantingham Lake.
Hiking
Hiking can be done from camp or you can drive to many of the hiking trails in the area. Hike Deerlick Rock in nearby Glenfield. A fun hike for the kids. During the winter, snowshoeing the area is just as fun.
Horseback Riding
The Otter Creek Horse Trails, on Chase Lake Road, offer more than 65 miles of scenic trails through forests and open meadows. There is an assembly area with trail head parking, 100 roofed tie stalls, two stud stalls, a water system and handicapped facilities.
Hunting
This region is home to deer, bear, rabbit, grouse, woodcock, and turkey. There are 218 square miles of public land, four deer management units, almost 140,000 acres of forest preserve and state lands, and a 5,000 acre wildlife management area in the county.
Mountain Biking
Mountain biking can be done anywhere around camp. Enjoy riding in the Independence River Wild Forest and trails around Number Four.
Skiing
The local ski area is Snow Ridge in Turin. Also you can cross country ski and snowshoe anywhere from camp.
Snowmobiling

Enjoy Snowmobiling all winter long in the Adirondack Park. Snowmobiling is ideal because of the abundant amount of snow and the changing terrain in the area. There are over 500 miles of groomed trails, including 86 miles of trails in the Forest Preserve. Go from wide open fields to forest covered trails in one ride. This area has some of the best snowmobiling in the country. The Number Four camp is right on the main trail system. Sperryville camp is about 4 miles from main trials.

Swimming
Swimming and tubing is great fun for kids and adults. The Independence River and Otter Creek are two places for swimming and tubing. Also there are several ponds and lakes in the area to swim.
Just Relaxing
Enjoy relaxing at camp, next to a fire, sitting by a river, or taking a walk through the woods. Also you could take a short ride in the car to see some more beautiful scenery.
